The purpose of this guide is to serve as a resource for the Greenfield Union School District. Though our community is not globally minded at this time, we are committed ti providing a 21st century education to our students. We want our students to be college ready and graduate college with the skills needed for global competence. This guide incorporates local and global resources for students, teachers, and administrators to achieve global competency. This guide is divided into four sections. 1. What is Global Education includes information and videos on what exactly globalization is and what it looks like in the classroom. 2. Studyincludes a digital learning environment inventory and global education assessment tools. 3. Travelincludes my travel blog of my visit to India this summer. This section also includes my research and reflection on poverty and academic success. 4. Teach includes project based learning opportunities, teacher resources, local resources, and my global education unit plan.
This site was created to help students, parents, and staff at Plantation Elementary School explore the world and learn about globalization. I have included many global resources that are used in my classroom to help create global citizens. The global resources provided are useful in guiding and supporting global awareness in the classroom. In the Travel tab you will find the travel blog of my trip to India for my TGC field experience.
