TEACHERS FOR GLOBAL CLASSROOMS (IREX) |
BOOK |
Teachers for Global Classrooms is the program that I participated in this past year. Through this experience, I have gained a different perspective on globalization and learned how to create global citizens in my classroom. The Teachers for Global Classrooms Program (TGC) is a year-long, fully funded professional development opportunity for US elementary, middle, and high school teachers to become leaders in global education. TGC equips teachers to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted training, experience abroad, and global collaboration.

In this video they discuss how digital media is changing the way young people interact in the 21st century.
This thought provoking video Taiye Selasi shares her idea that we come from our experience not from a nation. By only asking someone where they are from we miss out on learning so much more about the person. |
This is one of my favorites. In this video novelist Chimamanda Adichie tells the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice and warns that if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding. This video helps define what a global citizen is based on different people's views. |
